Since I'm still just reading book 2 of The Sword of Truth series and don't have any books to review at the moment, I thought I'd give you my wish list of upcoming books that I plan to buy (yippee.... nothing makes me quite as happy as buying a new book). (The order is by release date.)
- Hail Mary (Jim Knighthorse Series #3) by J.R.Rain
One of the wonderful things eBooks has done is put the power of publishing into the hands of the writer who may or may not otherwise be picked up by the "big" publishing houses. If you haven't had a chance to check out J.R.Rain's books - you should. I read through them over a period of about a week (yes, all of them), and they were immensely enjoyable. I can't wait for this new installation into this series.
Release Date: November 11, 2011 - Micro: A Novel by Michael Crichton and Richard Preston
I'm looking forward to this because I LOVE Michael Crichton. This is the manuscript he was working on when he passed away and from the reviews I've read Richard Preston did a wonderful job finishing it up in the Crichton style.
Release Date: November 22, 2011 - Gideon's Corpse by Douglas Preston and Lincoln Child
These are the two masterminds behind the Special Agent Pendergast series - as well as a host of other books that started with Relic. This book looks to be a second book featuring their new "hero", Gideon Crew.
Release Date: January 10, 2012 - Jack: Secret Vengeance (Repairman Jack) by F.Paul Wilson
Laura got me hooked on F.Paul Wilson's books and Repairman Jack is one great character. I can't wait to see what trouble he gets into in this newest book.
Release Date: January 31, 2011 - A Crown Imperiled: Book Two of the Chaoswar Saga by Raymond E. Feist
My love for Feist's books reach far back into my teenage years when I picked up a copy of Faerie Tale. He writes so richly and I have never been disappointed by anything he's written. I love the world he portrays and snatch up the latest book on publication date every time.
Release Date: March 15, 2012 - Quicksilver: Book Two of the Looking Glass Trilogy by Amanda Quick
I'm not a big fan of the romance genre, but for some reason I really like the way that Jayne Ann Krentz writes her historical books under her pseudonym Amanda Quick. For the most part the stories are all basically the same (headstrong female virgin finds mystery and adventure with dashing male lead who thinks she's not a virgin - trouble happens, love happens, male lead saves female lead from dastardly evil protagonist and then they live happily ever after.) I don't mean to make it sound that simple, but boiled down it is - but the stories are very well written and a great fun afternoon read. Believe it or not, I've read them all.
Release Date: March 27, 2012
So any books you're looking forward to? Anything I should keep an eye out for? Or even one of your favorite series that I might not have read? I'm hoping to get some book series ideas posted and I'd love to have yours!
