For some reason this has seemed like the longest week. I know the kids had Monday off from school so it really should have been short. Ugh. Today Liam stayed home from school because he wasn't feeling well (stomach ache). Of course he was fine an hour later, but isn't that how it goes? Tomorrow we're meeting friends at Chuck E Cheese (joy) for lunch so hopefully he won't feel bad again in the morning.
I found out that the day Travis has scheduled to get his braces off is one of his semester exam days. UGH! I called to change his appointment and the soonest appointment they had was the end of February. That's just ridiculous!!! I told Travis to talk to his teachers tomorrow to see what the schedule looks like for make-up. I'd hate for him to have to go an extra month and a half with his braces on if he doesn't have to. Pain in the behind people.
I ordered some new cookbooks today -- Barnes & Noble is having a pretty good sale and they have lots of books for $5. I ended up ordering 5 so I got free shipping on my order too. Hopefully they'll provide some decent recipes for the near future.
Two more cool things today -- the first is that the dishes that I ordered from Pier 1 came. I'm so excited to have some new dishes - yeah! I now have a service for 10 in plates, salad plates and bowls and 5 coffee cups. Now I just need to find some glasses that I like that'll match and I'll be set. The second is we ordered a stationary bicycle last week and that came today (and Don put it together too!). I get bored fairly easily with my workouts so this will give me one more option.
Tonight's dinner was simple - hamburgers. Nothing special about these except I made a sauce of light mayo and horseradish for it as well as some sauteed mushrooms. Tomorrow's supposed to be cold (high of 49) so I'm planning on soup -- actually looking forward to that.

That's a big burger! Glad to hear you will have a mouth of teeth again rather than metal!

Claire, I guess that photo does make that burger look bigger than it was, huh? My patties are usually 4-5 ounces uncooked (using 90% or 94% lean beef) and I use the small buns.
Travis is excited to be done with braces (this is his second set) -- now on to retainers. Joy!

I agree - that sure is one big looking burger. Makes me want one right now. :)
