This week in Liam's elementary school they are having reading week. What does that mean? Honestly, nothing much more than the usual school stuff -- though they are taking time out of the day to read. However, every day this week he's needed to dress according to the day. Monday was "wear something you can read" day -- he wore his Gap shirt that says "Winter Rules", Tuesday was "comfy clothes" day -- he wore sweat pants and a t-shirt, yesterday was "silly socks" day -- he wore Adrienne's Pink Panther socks, and today is "striped shirt" day so of course, he's got on a striped shirt. (I believe tomorrow is messy hair day but I'm not positive).
I'm not sure if it's reading week just here or everywhere, but I thought I'd give you a list of the books Liam is currently enjoying (he's in 1st grade) and if you have a K, 1st or 2nd grader, please share with me some of their favorite books. I've tried to instill the love of reading into all the kids but Liam seems to be the least likely to want to sit down and read. Having books around he enjoys seems to be one of the keys to his becoming a more successful reader and I'd love to have a few more options for him.
