Sunday Scrappin': Where did March Go?

As you know by now, Amy, over at her Sunday Scrappin' meme, lets us share what we've done creatively in the previous week.  I love sharing what I've done and checking out what everyone else has been busy with.

This week I did get my swaps for March finished -- having only the Small World shaker box to complete.  I had the toughest time with it -- couldn't figure out what I wanted to do with it to get it "just right".  I did end up being happy with it but I'm not sure why I've had such a hard time with the swaps lately.  Hopefully my creative juices will be better for next month.

I really don't have any "to-dos" this week that have to be done but I know I want to get something accomplished so I'll say work on one of my Club Scrap projects I haven't finished yet.  Looking at my week I don't have that much going on (yet) so I should be able to complete something.

Amy's bonus question is What inspires you to sit down and craft?  Well, that's a tough one.  Lately it's just because I *have* to get something done and my creativity has been almost nil.  I'm hoping this week I'll get inspired a little more and spend some time crafting just for fun.

My mom goes home tomorrow evening (sigh) so things should hopefully get back on track again with my blogging and email.  I just truly cannot believe that March is over with -- where does the time go?

Scrappin' Sunday: Happy Easter

How has your Easter Sunday been?   We've had a very low key day today and in a few minutes are going to color some eggs.  I apologize for not posting this week but my mom is in town this past week and next week so I haven't had a whole lot to blog.  April should be a better posting month.  :)

I had a few things scrappy to get done this week and I finished everything up except one - a shaker box for It's a Small World.  Since it's due to be mailed by the end of the week I'll share that with you next week.  What did I get done?  I finished up my Autopia pieces (which I forgot to scan), the Turtle Talk with Crush Shaker Box, and my Tomato Salad recipe page. 

I'm really happy with the way they both came out.

My to-dos this week are (of course) the shaker box and to maybe get a jump start on the swaps for next month.  I've just been idealess on this last swap and I'll be glad to see it sent in.

Amy (over at her Sunday Scrappin' blog) asked her question of the week:  For what holiday do you do the most crafts?  Hmmm... I would have to say them all about equally.  I love to just be holiday-ish. :)   Head over to her blog and see what everyone else is up to!

Sunday Scrappin': Busy, Busy

I'm very pleased with everything I got accomplished this past week craft-wise.  I got my 4 cards for stamp camp done (with some help browsing SCS galleries - I love the ideas and appreciate being able use their cards as a jumpstart on my own - sometimes CASEing the whole idea, other times just a part).  Last night's stamp camp was a success -- I had 6 people attend and they all enjoyed getting away for a bit and stamping.  Here are the cards we did:

The 3 red/white pieces are for Autopia (obviously) and the tag isn't quite done yet - still deciding what to do with it.  Also the title is a little plain -- any ideas to jazz it up?  The Haunted Mansion title I like, and the shaker box is for Turtle Talk with Crush and just needs the outside decorated (any ideas on that?)  I've thrown around a couple of ideas in my head but nothing I want to commit to yet.  I think I'll add 3 brads on the lower corner and then maybe some penned scroll work but beyond that it's a toss up.

To-do's this week?  Get these swaps finished.  The kids have spring break and my mom comes into town for 2 weeks so I'm sure it'll be another busy one.  I have a recipe swap and a shaker box that I haven't started yet but then I'll be finished for this month (and next month I didn't sign up for as many).

Amy (over at Simply Scrappin' -- the meme blog that rounds up all our wondrous creations of the week) always throws out a bonus question for answering and this week it's:

How long could you keep on crafting without buying new supplies?  Hmmm...  hmmmm... how long could I keep crafting? A loooong time.  How long would I want to?  Not long ... I always love buying something new.  :)

Sunday Scrappin': Missed You

 

I had nothing to report last week so I'm sad to say I skipped Amy's round-up on her Sunday Scrappin' blog.  Honestly I got nothing done this week either except a little shopping so my ta-das are limited.

I bought some embossing folders for my Cuttlebug (just because I liked them), some stickers and brass embossing plate to use as inspiration for my swap spots this month, and some ribbon and brads for the colored embellishment swap due next month.

I've got a ton and a half things on my to-do list this week so I know next weekend I'll have a full post for you.  The very least is 5 swap spots due this month plus my stamp camp next Saturday (I'm waiting on my order to start on that so I'm not procrastinating THAT much).  My mom comes into town a week from Monday so I'm not sure how much crafting I'll be able to do so I'd like to see all these things completed by then.

Sunday Scrappin': Lazy Day

I'm not feeling too great this morning/afternoon so I'm going to make this week's Sunday Scrappin' post a short one.  My ta-das this week were to finish up all my swaps -- and the package will be mailed tomorrow (yeah!).  I had 2 toppers left to do, one for the movie Cars, the other, for the Dumbo ride at Disney:

I'm not 100% thrilled with them, but they'll have to do.  I don't know why I had such a hard time with the titles, but I know I won't be signing up for titles for a while.  :)

My to-dos this week?  Actually, I have none.  I'm hoping to get a Club Scrap project done but we'll see how everyone (including me) feels.

Sunday Scrappin': Couple of Things

Another new week is beginning and it seems like each current one goes quicker than the last.  I've got quite a few things on my "to-do" list this week so hopefully they'll all get done.

First, my ta-da's of the week:  I got my last recipe swap page done, one element in one of my Disney ride spots, and 3/4 of the journal box done for my Ratatouille swap.  First, the recipe page:

I like the way this turned out -- the colors all mesh well together plus the recipe sounds yummy!

Next is my shaker box for Thunder Mountain Railroad.  I had a hard time deciding what to do with the window portion of the shaker box so I decided to make it clear:

The die is a Sizzix one and I just chalked the color on.  Looks a little different IRL, but doesn't it always?  The funny thing is that I just realized I made 10 and I only needed 8.  Hate when I do that. Anyway, if anyone would like one of these babies, leave a comment on this post by next Saturday.  I'll pick 2 people at random to receive them and post who "wins" on my next Sunday Scrappin' post.  (Make sure you add your email address to the form so I can contact you.)

As for the journal box, I'll share that with you next weekend when it's done.

Now for me to-dos this week .. yikes .. first, I have stamp camp next Saturday so those cards have to be done and paper needs to be cut.  I have one card done and need to create 3 more.  I also want to get the titles done for my Cars and Dumbo swap and the quote box done for a Buzz Lightyear swap.  See, told you I'll be busy.

Amy's bonus question?  What are your favorite craft sites?  I have to say there are a few sites I go to off an on but the one site I'm consistently visiting is SplitCoastStampers.  If you stamp and haven't been over there -- go check it out.  I've been a member there for several years and I can always count on them for fun and ideas.

Sunday Scrappin': Back in the Groove

While I've been quiet on the blog, I did get a couple of things done this week.  First, Adrienne had a project to complete so I helped her with that.  Unfortunately I didn't get any photos, but basically she and her partner at school polled 100 6th graders on their favorite type of music.  They then had to make a poster using 2 different types of graphs.  Her partner chose bright neon colors for the base and border and we printed out the graphs and neatened things up.  I hope she can bring it home so I can get a photo of it.

Liam had a project to do as well.  Tomorrow is their 100th day of school and they had to glue 100 things onto a piece of poster board.  Liam chose toothpicks and I bundled them up in groups of 4 so he could "write" out the number 100:

Next, I have 3 recipe pages I need to do for a swap, and I got 2 of them done:

I had plans to get a couple of other swap things done as well as a scrapbook page or two but I just ran out of time.  (Where the heck does the time go?!?!)

My to-do's for this week?  Finish up my swaps for the month of February -- that's 6 spots -- and start thinking about the cards for my next Stamp Camp.

Amy's bonus question this week for Sunday Scrappin'?  Do you sketch your ideas or do you just put them together as you go?  I don't sketch any of my ideas at all -- though I do place things on the paper and re-arrange a lot until I get them how I want them.  I think it's because I don't draw well so I don't feel comfortable sketching.

Sunday Scrappin': Science Crafty

I love that Amy has a Sunday Scrappin' event that she hosts.  It's fun to see what everyone has been up to and to have one post that allows me to post what I've been up to the past week.

As for this week, I'm still not into the swing of getting things done, but I did finish most of the package for my friend Melanie, and that should go out in the mail tomorrow.  I also started on a couple of the swaps I am in though don't have anything finished.  Our big accomplishment?  Helping Adrienne finish up her science fair project.  In all fairness I didn't do much at all except help her cut paper to fit for mounting and then spraying her board with some gold webbing.  We didn't like the way the white board was so stark and I think it came out GREAT!

She used my Cuttlebug alphabet for the labels and the corners.  The project?  Adding different substances to water to see if it affects the freezing temperature.

My to-dos this week?  Finish up one of my swaps and get at least ONE scrapbook layout done (starting small).  I also just planned my next stamp camp so I want to have at least 3 of those projects done.

Amy's bonus question this week is:  Do you prefer to stick with only big name-brand supplies (Creative Memories, Stampin' Up, etc.) or do you usually buy less expensive supplies?  For the most part I stick with name brand supplies.  I have found that really the bigger name companies have better quality products.

Sunday Scrappin': Not Much to Report

Well it's a good thing I didn't have any big plans for crafting this past week because I don't think I can report anything that I've done.  Partially because of my new obsession with World of Warcraft (okay, it's not obsession level but gee it's fun) and partially because we've had family in town.  So, my sharing this week will be the calendar I made for my mom (which I can share now because I gave it to her last night):

and my to do list for next week.  Oh, I also forgot to answer Amy's bonus question last week and that was where I do my crafting.  I'm lucky enough to have my own "room" which has all my stuff in it along with my computer.  Maybe next week I'll post some photos.

As to my to do list for the upcoming week, we still have family in town but I'd like to finish up the recipe cards for my friend Melanie.  We're doing bread machine recipes this month and I'd like to give her some good ones.  I also would like to start Liam's teacher's holiday gift because if I don't I'm not sure she'll be getting anything handmade (which would be a bummer).

Sunday Scrappin': Recipe Pages

Has it really been a week since I posted?  Whew!  Hope everyone here in the US had a wonderful Thanksgiving ... ours was really, really nice and hopefully I'll be able to share some photos of our feast with you later.

As for this week's crafting, I did get some of my "to-do"s done -- did a little more work on my holiday projects, and got 2 of my 3 recipe pages done (hopefully tonight I'll create the last to get them out in the mail tomorrow).  Here are the recipe pages:

My to-dos this week?  Finish up 2 of the holiday projects I have to do, decide and make recipe cards for whatever quick bread I'm making for gifts (I bought the cutest mini loaf pans for gift giving), and make out my holiday card list (and decide what I'm doing with that).  Doesn't sound too exciting so I think I also want to create the project that just came in my Club Stamp kit.
