Has it really been almost a week since I posted? Sorry about that. I wish I could say we've been busy doing something fun like a trip somewhere but alas, we've just been here doing our normal routine. Dinners around here have been uninspired and even crafty things have been non-existent. I guess I can partially blame WoW on my evenings being unproductive but I have no excuse for during the day. (I try to play only in the evenings with Travis -- though once in a while I'll go on during the day. For anyone that cares, I've made it to level 52 and Travis has 2 characters, one is level 46, the other is 26.)
I thought my jump back into blogging would be my submission to this week's Presto Pasta Night over at Ruth's wonderful blog, Once Upon a Feast. I knew I didn't want to miss out a week - this week is week number 48 and with a little searching I'll have joined in on 36 of those weeks (not too bad of a record).
In those weeks, I've made 4 different versions of macaroni and cheese: a soupy version from Bobby Flay, a semi-bland version from Paula Deen, a Stilton cheese version from Rachael Ray, and a Tex-Mex, quick, easy version with chicken from Carla Fitzgerald Williams. Add to that tonight's recipe for Velveeta's Ultimate Macaroni and Cheese and I think I've filled my quota for cheesy pasta.
The above link takes you to Kraft's website and their original recipe. Here's my slight modifications:
Velveeta Macaroni and Cheese
- 1 pound elbow macaroni
- 1 pound Velveeta, cut into smallish cubes
- 1/2 cup milk
- 6 ounces cubed ham
Cook the macaroni according to package directions. Drain well and then add back into the pot with remaining ingredients. Cook until cheese is melted and ham is warmed through.
Wow! 36 out of 48 - AWESOME!!!
Thanks for being such a great Presto Pasta Nighter.

Looks good! I've never played WOW, but I was hooked on Runescape for a while. ;)
